“A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts…” ~Steve Prefontaine I ran on that track-check out the link!

I have been so blessed to have the opportunity to coach runners. Running is a lifelong passion for me. I may not have the physical ability today, but there is so much stored in my mind. I can still feel the decision making process that each runner has to have. It is a process of training and racing. They go together.

I had the opportunity to run at Pre’s stadium in the late fall of 1991. The last ¼ mile of a 5k national cross country race was held on the track that Steve Prefontaine ran on and is the track in Alan Webb’s awesome high school mile record race. I love seeing that track on TV and knowing that there was a point in my life that I EARNED the right to run there. I finished 2nd in the nation in the 15-16 year old division that day in 1991.

Thank you God for peak performances. Here is my story-check out the link. I know today that You made me an athlete for a reason. I wasn’t grateful to You back then. But I know today that You were setting me up to be a Christian Coach. A man that can impact athletes by sharing my experience. A person that can pray for victory with all of the glory going to You. I pray today that I can be a spectacular coach. And someday I will be grateful to tell anyone who will listen that God gets the glory for the successes. God gets the glory!
